Electric and low voltage

Things are moving along… Today we went trough the house for low voltage/ phone /AV.
It’s not as easy as I thought deciding months ahead of time where the TVs will go… How many phone jacks I need and how many outlets one each wall… But we did it. Every room has a plan now… Soon all these open walls will be drywalled and then it’s full steam ahead…

In the new and unexpected list today we have asbestos removal (from the old isolation on the furnace) Yes, it’s a job. And a very well paying job at that…

Amazing surprise from my super genius contractor Ron today.. The studio bench, my work table is ready… It’s a work of art by itself… ! Super excited.

Some slab options for the kitchen arrived too… All fantastic… The house is starting to breath again… After the demo shock it’s coming back to life…

Day 11

The tile we ordered Arrived yesterday. It looks amazing. The floors on the second floor are in disrepair and for sure needs to be either replaced or carpeted.. Not sure what to do…
Framing of the house is almost done and plumbing starts next week . Also next week my work bench for the studio (aka the unused garage) should be done. I’m excited.. I’m going away for s couple days… It will be good for me to get away for a bit…. New perspective…

Begining of Demolition.. and options

on October 12th (ish) we started demolition.. here is the house with its dust right at the beginning..and some option for wallpaper for the entrance room.

Today we found out that the wood floors on the second floor will not be able to be sanded and finished..

Underneath the carpets on the second floor someone went to town with a nail gun ALL OVER the wood…. probably to make it not squeaky but it destroyed the wood.

We need to install ALL NEW floors… very very expensive.. and a little discouraging..

I guess every house has to have at least one big surprise in it…
